Republicans to Dedicate Convention Time to Social Security

Showing the increased perception by Republicans that Social Security reform is a political asset rather than a liability, convention staff announced Monday that Social Security will be a major theme of the third night of the GOP nominating convention in Philadelphia. Wednesday, August 2 will emphasize economic opportunity and retirement security, saying that "every person willing to work hard should be able to realize the American dream and enjoy a safe and secure retirement."
